Description
Why Coroplast?
Coroplast is a lightweight, durable, and versatile material made from corrugated plastic. It’s known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for a variety of applications, from signage and displays to protective packaging. Coroplast is weather-resistant, UV-stable, and waterproof, which makes it perfect for both indoor and outdoor use. Its rigidity provides structural integrity while remaining flexible enough for customization, including cutting, folding, and printing. Additionally, it’s reusable, recyclable, and low-maintenance, which contributes to its eco-friendliness. Whether you’re looking for a sturdy signboard or protective material, coroplast offers an economical and durable solution.
What is Coroplast made of?
Coroplast is made from polypropylene, a type of plastic that is both lightweight and durable. It’s a type of corrugated plastic, meaning it has a fluted or ribbed structure sandwiched between two flat layers of plastic, much like cardboard, which gives it strength without adding much weight. Polypropylene itself is known for being resistant to moisture, chemicals, and UV radiation, which contributes to Coroplast’s versatility and durability, especially in outdoor environments.
What the H is an H-stake?
An H-Stake is a type of metal stake commonly used to support signs, especially in outdoor settings like real estate or political campaign signs. It’s called an “H-stake” because of its shape, which resembles the letter “H” when viewed from the side. The stake consists of two vertical metal rods that are connected by a horizontal crosspiece, creating a sturdy structure. The vertical rods are typically designed to easily slide into the fluted edges of corrugated plastic materials like Coroplast, allowing for quick and secure mounting of the sign. H-stakes are popular because they are simple to install, reusable, and can hold signs securely even in windy conditions. They’re often used for temporary signage, but their durability makes them reliable for repeated use.
What kind of ink is applied to the coroplast?
Our printers apply UV-curable inks to coroplast. This ink creates a hard, durable surface resistant to abrasion, scratches, and wear. It is suitable for outdoor use, as it withstands UV exposure, temperature fluctuations, and weathering. UV inks adhere well to coroplast surfaces, ensuring the printed image or text stays intact over time. UV-curable inks offer high color saturation and vibrancy, making them ideal for signage that needs to grab attention. The ink cures instantly under UV light, locking in the colors with sharp details. While cured UV inks are relatively rigid, they can accommodate the slight bending or flexing of coroplast without cracking, as long as the material isn’t excessively bent. UV-curable inks are generally eco-friendlier than solvent-based inks because they emit no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during curing.
